From the Dixie Chicks to the Dubs.

The weekend was fab! I had loads of QT with Mammy2 and we managed to get to the cinema and watch a movie. The dixie chicks documentary Shut up and Sing was in the IFI so we headed to see it on the Saturday after a lovely Indian. Mammy2 is addicted at this stage. Whenever I suggest going out for dinner or getting takeout, the first thing she suggests is Indian. The documentary was very good, but its probably adviseable for you to be a fan. There is a lot of their music played throughout. I love them and Mammy2 is a fan and reluctantly admits to it. It was a very interesting documentary as I had no idea how their statement about Bush had such an affect on their music sales and resulted in them receiving a death threat. The american public are a strange bunch. They came across as very strong minded individuals. After watching that, I re-listened to their latest album. Its excellent, much more in your face then their usual stuff and very passioniate.

We got home after a lovely evening to find the kid, with the mate K and a kitten. Apparently, a friend was looking to find a good home and of course the kid jumped at the chance. We have told her a number of times that we can't have pets, because there would be no-one at home to look after them etc. Nevermind the fact that as she grows up, she will be sticking her claws into everything and the leather couch would be prefect for her claws. Not so perfect for us and our inspections. Although I would for the cat to launch herself at Cruella the next time she calls around to 'inspect'. I reckon whenever we get our own place perhaps we might look at taking in a pet. Until then, the kid needs enough minding.

Although for the past week, we're seen her on and off. She is pratically living at the boyfriends. Not that I'm complaing. The only problem is when she does finally see us, my ears start bleeding from all the talking she does. She's a typical titch in that she needs to tell us everything that's going on in her life and if we haven't seen her in oh so many days, then she has hoardes of information to share with us. I nod and say yes in the right places and she's happy. She heads off to Holland on Saturday for a week. Only for I have training and Mammy2 can't get time off, we'd head over with her for the weekend and then take some days off to head off for a holiday. We've decided that next week is reserved for us and we won't be seeing anyone.. Yay for lots of time with Mammy2.

Caught up with the mate J yesterday and got to finally meet the ladyfriend. Not girlfriend, they're not at that stage yet apparently. But they are so cute together and the ladyfriend is lovely. I didn't get to ask her too many questions as the mate J, obviously aware of my plan, made sure to bring her out during the GAA, the leinster final. And then headed off to the cinema. She must be smitten, as the ladyfriend managed to persuade her to go and see Harry Potter. She also moved out of home this week and into town which is great. Of course, her being her usual non-sharing type of person, only told us yesterday when she arrived in with bags. She's going to be living about
5 mins from us which is great and she's 2 minutes from her work place. I have a feeling though that she will still manage to be late.
