The sunshine and bubba

It started off pants on the Friday but gradually improved into a fab weekend. I hate confrontation. I don't like fighting. But things were clarified and cleared up and as Eddie Izzard says, bygones.
What a glorious weekend. Seriously, the sun didn't stop shining, even at night time. And had no sympathy for pale fools who don't bother to put on sun block. Me par example. Friday evening was spent entertaining the kid. We brought her out for dinner as she had finished school and all her exams. She was delighted with herself. We headed to see X-Men and she was so excited I'm convinced Mammy2 lost the power in her arm. When she gets excited, it involves lots of grabbing hold of the arm and squeezing until the blood stops moving. It was a go
od movie, not as good as the first 2 but its usually the case with trilogys. But there was Jean Grey. What a lovely lady is all I have to say on the matter.

Saturday, we went to the rubber duckie race. What a farce, 45 minutes later still not a sign
of the ducks to move. I could just about make out Shay

We got bored of waiting and headed to the tall ships and the stalls down by the docklands. It was the Maritime Festival. It was nice to potter around the stalls although the kid saw loads of stuff she wanted to buy. The smell of the food cooking was lovely. I even thought about buying some and eating it. I, however, wasn't feeling that adventerous.
Saturday night was date night, the kid hobbled back to the flat, giving out about the sun whilst we wandered about the city and headed for some wine and cheese. How posh are we. It was a lovely night and great to catch up with Mammy1. She gets my madness and still loves me!

I love long weekends. Just when you're getting that Sunday feeling, there's an extra day! I caught up with a mate who was home from London on Sunday evening and spent most of Monday in the company of the south african tourist. DART hopping, visits to 'markets' and beachs were the order of the day. Not to mention HUGE portions of fish and chips. And more sunburn. Yes, I neglected to by sunblock again. I was so red last night, the kid took a picture of me. She thinks I look hilarious. I was delighted with her reaction needless to say. At the moment, there's enough heat coming from my neck to cook dinner for a small family.

I got a small bit of sympathy from Mammy2, only a small bit. The glare I got made the sunburn glow even redder if such a thing were possible. However, its Tuesday and a four day week. The sun is still shining and threatening to burn me. Its relentless in its attempts to fry
me.
