No more lunches, no more getting up early and having surreal conversations. Oh, yeah, she's finished.
Another year over and it feels like such an achievement. I have to say I'm very proud of her. Yes,
ignore the last 53435 posts where I was giving out about her. She has worked her ass off this year
and its paid off. However she does in her exams, she's taking huge steps towards improving in school.
Last year we got a letter from child welfare. This year, whilst her attendence hasn't been fantastic, she's been getting up and going in. A huge difference from dragging her from the bed last year. And phyiscally putting her on the bus. Its amazing what time can do. Its like she's a different person. In one respect she's the exact same teenager which still causes us headaches but she's much more settled. She seems to know where she fits now . In our life, in school. She has plans. Lots of plans!
College, defer for a year, travel and then go to college and study science and art. In that order.
This could all change though. At least she's looking to the future and in a positive sense.
In other news, sunshine and the eurovison is one sure-fire way to put a smile on my face. Well,
there are other ways, but I think you'd appreciate me not sharing everything with you. The sun
is so lovely, for the 5 minutes it comes out. Give me a day or 2 of it and I'll be complaining. When I
turn my lovely red colour. Very attractive. I envy dark featured people. They just look well all year
bloody round. Feickers.
There's a big march tomorrow in town with regards to the ridculousness that is our justice system at
the moment. I don't know much about the ins and outs of laws and I don't pretend to. But when you
have child rapists walking the streets, it just makes no sense. And to add insult to injury, the scumbag that was released for raping the 12 year old not only gets to roam the streets again, he doesn't even have to get his name released? Lets protect him in case he gets beaten up. This is one of those situations where I would completly advocate taking matters in your own hands. Because if it was the kid and this had happened, he wouldn't be walking free. Crime of passion or whatever term you want to put on it. There's no way the pevert would be walking. I can't even verbalize how angry this makes me.
I hope there's a big turnout for this tomorrow, I'd love to go but I doubt I'll be able to get the time off. Lovely way to start the bank holiday. Showing the government our disgust.
On a happier note, we've adopted a rubber ducky called Shay. There's a race on the Saturday and you can adopt a duck for 4 yo yos for the race. Its for a good cause and sounds like a bit of fun. I only hope Shay doesn't get stage fright when he sees all the other ducks. I'm sure he'll be fine.
