All over for another year

Christmas was great this year, well as great as it can be without the mother around. Its a relative term when I think of the last few christmases we've had. The kid behaved herself so well that my stress levels were non-existant. We had a lovely christmas day, cooked dinner and then played Pictionary and a few other games. The kid was wallowing in present ville, she got loads of them. She was well chuffed with herself. The sister K and her boyf were home until last Wed. They headed back to Holland to celebrate New Years. For New Years here, we didn't get up to much.

The brother came up and his gf and we hung out with them for the new year. Headed up to Christchurch to ring in the new year and then sat up until 3 chatting and having a few drinks. Overall, a nice christmas. I spent most of Monday taking down all the decorations and the tree. I
know you're not supposed to take them down until the 6th but seeing as our tree is usually up since November, we decided it might be a good idea.

She's back to school next week, they get a lot of leave these days. I could start down the road of in my day but I won't! Back into work yesterday and I was so not in the mood. I've been strung out lately with the website and other websites that I do work on. Its the big birthday for my website on the 21st of January and I'm trying to organise a party for it. It sounded like a good idea at the time, but jeebus its giving me headaches. Its looking like its coming together. I hope.

The kid has told us already what she wants for her 17th birthday. I think she's moved off the idea of tatoo as anytime she mentioned it, we made a lot of faces. Not the fact that she's getting one, but the cost. The detail she would want on in would cost a couple of hundred euros. So that's out. She annouced yesterday she wanted a new guitar? After we buying her one last year. I told her no way. I mentioned the fact that we don't have a bottomless bank account and that we have to start saving for her if she wants to go to college , etc. She was muttering about second hand guitars and stuff. I told her to check it out and get back to me.

She's also throwing a hissy fit because when we head off to Paris at the end of the month(a bday pressie for Mammy2) for a few days, I'm getting my mates to drop in and check on her. The following was her response to the annoucement. "I'm nearly 17, Shelly" and "I don't NEED a babysitter" are some of the platitudes she threw out. I decided not to draw attention to the fact that she has a boyf now and she would take this as an oppurtunity to play whilst we were away. I shall ask the sitters to do a quick closet check, no, not for gay people, for the boyf. As if there would
be anyone in the closet in our apartment! Silly people.

Apparently we are all on for baby making again this month, I am tempted at this stage to write an open letter to my ovaries. If I was sure that
1) They could read
2) They spoke english

I shall see. I am feeling optimistic about it, but then again I was about the last few attempts. If one more person announces that they are pregant, I will have to hurt them. In a nice way you understand.
