so , so tired...

The weekend has passed and I'm still alive , just about. What a whirlwind of a weekend. The sister arrived home on the Thursday and only went back today, whilst I slept until 6 o'clock this afternoon, my body needing the rest.

The anniversary mass passed without incident. despite the fact that we arrived 15 minutes late.
We had travelled down to Athlone the previous evening so we would be on time, seeing as the mass was at 8.30 in the morning. However, due to teenagers spending longer then necessary straightening their hair and about 4 wrong turns, we arrived just as the gospel was in full swing.

After the mass, the family did the usual fawning all over the sister, whilst myself and the kid stood back and left them to it. Its probably because K is in Holland most of the year and they only see her once a year for the mass. Its funny though because K could show up in ash cloth and not having washed in a year and they would still be all over her like cheap perfume.

The kid's best friend D, came down with us and they travelled back on the train as there wasn't enough room in the car.

Once we got back up to Dublin, everyone went for lie down I tackled the ironing pile. The kid and D burst into the apartment and annouced that D saw Mam on the train sitting beside the kid. She was a medium after all. Whilst maintaining a serious face, I continued to iron the clothes and asked what she looked like etc. Apparently she was in grand form, smoking a cigarette. I asked did she know that you weren't allowed smoke on the train.

I had visions of Mam's spirit being asked to leave the train and putting up a fight as per usual.

I wonder sometimes what brings these ideas into their minds, or are they serious? I tend not to go down that route.

Yesterday, myself and K had a sisters day, whilst the kid had band practice. Unfortunately, they 'forgot' to reserve a studio and so they sat around listening to a cd? This is band pratice, I'm constantly practicing for my band so.

Today was spent in bed, I slept until 6. The horrible period finally arrived and was greeted with more disdain then usual. I know I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up, but when I was so late, I had thought..

It probably was the stress of the weekend that delayed it, sure back to trying, eh? That's always fun ;)
